I started with my favorite green smoothie, and some coffee. Then I had a turkey meatball salad: a few turkey meatballs, grape tomatoes, steamed collard greens, 1/4 an avocado, 1/2 a cucumber and I dressed it with liquid aminos, white vinegar and grapeseed oil, and sea salt and pepper. Then, I was still hungry so I made a little (just a handful) of trail mix, some raisins, walnuts, raw pepitas and a pinch of sea salt.
AND THEN…I went to an event, and I was late. So I did have a banana while I was on my way. (not pictured)
I missed the food at the event…and I did what I always tell my clients to NOT do, which was to eat “any old thing” so dinner was (she says sheepishly…but full disclosure
French fries and a cocktail.
I tell you this to show you that we ALL have days that are better than others.
Did I beat myself up for eating crap? Did I feel like, “oh well, I may as well throw caution to the wind, and eat more and more junk!” Did I let that make me feel awful?
The truth is…NO! I eat a mostly clean, green and lean diet. I work out. I give my body all kinds of love, with good food, workouts, and positive messages.
A healthy lifestyle means that sometimes you’re just going to eat some fries.
It’s not the end of the world. The next day, I just went right back to my normal healthy eating habits. Donezo! NBD!
It’s important to have a big picture perspective:)
