I often get asked about workout/eating plan/life balance questions, but I was inspired by a question asked by Lizette in Brooklyn:
Dear Tracy,
Thanks for all of the great tips on lifestyle and wellness.
I am just wondering what do you like to read in your free time?
Any favorite books that are NOT self improvement?
Please let me know, I’m curious.
I LOVE this question from Lizette! While I do wake up every day and am beyond grateful for what I have the honor of doing for a living: coaching people, training and getting them closer and closer to lives and bodies they love… this little one needs her balance too! Today I want to share with you a few books that I am totally OBSESSED with.
I’M OBSESSED with:TRAVEL AND FOOD BOOKS!
The adventurer in me loves hopping on planes and being free to go go go! But sometimes it just isn’t in the cards. My favorite books are the ones that make me feel I’m THERE! I love a good book that makes me taste the food, see the sights, and hear the sounds of foreign places. I have a definite Europe/South American theme here.
Some of my faves are:
Lunch in Paris, a love story w/ recipes by Elizabeth Bard This is a great beach/flight read AND there are some great recipes in the book too! So read up and then EAT up! |
Buenos Aires Broken Hearts Club by Jessica Morrison This book was recommended to me a few years ago when I was nursing a broken heart. It is a great story and a lot cheaper than a ticket to Argentina…though I’m excited and ready for a trip to Argentina! Just sayin! |

A Thousand Days in Venice by Marlena de Blasi Io adoro questo libro! (that’s I love this book). Again another American that goes to Italia and meets her love. I’m a romantic girl! I like this book because they are ADULTS with pasts and find each other in Venice. A great easy breezy read, very romantic and also has recipes! 😉 |
A Cook’s Tour by Anthony Bourdain I totally have a crush on Tony Bourdain. He has that perfect mix of angry chef and sexy foodie….but I digress. This is an awesome book! Read it (and if you haven’t Kitchen Confidential can be read in the time it takes you to fly NYC to LAX) |
